When web users in China are seeking to chat with AI simply for fun, they’re not likely to turn to popular voice assistants like Apple’s Siri or Xiaomi’s Xiao AI. Instead, China’s “fun” AI of option really comes from Microsoft, and it will quickly be an independent business.

The procedure will be in the next few months, the business added. Chinese news site Caixin reported that the Covid-19 pandemic and tensions in between the US and China accelerated the spin-off procedure.
